Debating European Jewish Community Leaders’ Survey Findings

December 2018

This past November over 200 professionals, and lay leaders gathered in Prague for the 3rd Summit of European Jewish Leadership, whereupon Dr. Barry Kosmin, Research Professor from Trinity College, and leading researcher of the survey, revealed the findings. Those present were able to share a platform where the results of the survey were discussed and analyzed in a variety of different forums. Through group activities, dialogue, and sessions, the Summit served as an opportunity to delve into the trends, and challenges of Europe’s future, in an effort to understand the needs of Europe’s Jewish Communities.

The Fourth Survey of European Jewish Community Leaders and Professionals – conducted every three years by the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee’s (JDC) European research division, the International Centre for Community Development (ICCD) – offers professionals, lay leaders, academics and practitioners the chance to explore how Europe’s top Jewish community leaders relate to emerging and existing trends in their communities and countries. Approximately 900 respondents from 23 countries in European partook in this latest survey, which was offered in 10 languages.
