Janine specialises in the links between strategy and organization and is well known internationally for her award winning work on social capital. She combines practice-oriented research with extensive experience of working with senior executives and leadership teams on key organizational issues.
Current topics include partnering, global relationship management, virtual teams and network organization – each a manifestation of the growing challenge of managing across boundaries.
Janine recently spent a period as Lead Research Fellow for the Advanced Institute of Management Research based at the London Business School and was part of a major international consortium investigating how firms build cooperative advantage. She has just completed an extended term as a member of the Regulatory Decisions Committee of the Financial Services Authority and of the Advisory Committee for the UK Research Programme on the Evolution of Business Knowledge.
After many years as a Fellow and Senior Tutor of Templeton College and member of the University of Oxford’s Faculty of Social Studies, she recently moved to a portfolio career, enabling her to focus her research and work with executives on the challenge of building organizational capabilities that meet the needs of the 21st century. She is now an Associate Fellow of Templeton College and of the Saïd Business School. She is a regular speaker at international conferences, both business and academic and is an advisor to organizations in the public, private and third sectors.
